For fans of exotic flowers, it doesn’t get much more exciting than Singapore’s National Orchid Garden. One part, the tropical Montane Orchidetum, simulates the experience of climbing through a tropical forest, showcasing the diversity of plants, especially orchids, that thrive at each elevation. One orchid genus, Oncidium, is especially pleasing; it includes varieties called the dancing lady orchid and golden shower orchid.

Our homage to this Asian garden is the Tan Hoong arrangement, a boisterous display of deep red flowers sprouting from a white-on-blue square vase. This plant will never shrivel or die, as the whole thing, from root to flower, is hand-crafted of silk fabric.
